K-beauty skin care products are perfect for combating your most common skin concerns, including acne, eczema, redness, dryness, wrinkles, dull skin, oily skin, aging, and many others. While none of these skin conditions are fun to deal with, there are a number of new functional cosmetics that are specially designed to target each one. In today’s post, we wanted to share our top sheet masks of 2019 for targeting acne and acne prone skin.
ACNE – Plain & Simple
Acne can be miserable. Glaring whiteheads, blackheads, red & tender bumps, and pimples. If you’ve never had acne, you are among the lucky few, as more than 80% of people between ages 11 and 30 have experienced it at least once. The causes of acne really boil down to four main factors: excess oil production, clogged hair follicles either by oil or dead skin cells, bacteria, or excess hormone activity. Your skin care regimen can certainly help tackle the first three causes. But even if you are temporarily going through an especially active hormone period (adolescence, menstruation, or pregnancy), regular use of acne fighting skin care will do wonders for your skin. And regular use of sheet masks can also help stress levels, which are also linked to acne. So which products work best?
Centella Asiatica is one of the most effective natural ingredients for fighting acne. Any skin care product containing this ingredient is excellent for treating acne skin. This Centella Multi Mask Pack contains over 77% of centella in its essence, as well as a number of other natural (and non-toxic!) ingredients. We also love this sheet mask for acne treatment because it can last for up to one hour on your face without drying out. This is 4x longer than the average cotton sheet mask. After several treatments, your acne skin should be drastically improved in no time.
For More Sensitive Skin Types
Centella Asiatica works great, but people with extra sensitive skin sometime find it too abrasive or harsh. For more sensitive skin-types, try the Tea Tree Sheet Mask and Honey Sheet Mask, both by Blanc Therapy. Both Tea Tree and Honey have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that are excellent for killing acne-causing bacteria. Additionally, Tea Tree can calm redness and soothe irritation, and the high antioxidants in honey can begin a restorative, healing process for your skin. For a treatment schedule, we would recommend using a Tea Tree sheet mask for 15 minutes on the first day. This can be followed by a Honey Sheet Mask the next day. You can alternate between these two masks each successive day until your acne improves and heals. It won’t be perfect overnight, but after a couple of weeks, your face should look and feel much, much better.
Fighting Acne above and below
What about acne in those other areas? Like below the waistline? Although rare, acne does happen down there, especially if you regularly wax or shave your bikini line. For your more intimate areas, we’re launching a new sheet mask exclusively for your nether regions. Our Bikini Line Sheet Mask by Pib (coming soon!) is a specially designed, antibacterial sheet mask that wraps below your butt, around your inner thighs, and can cover up to either your bikini line or vulva. Containing a wide range of natural ingredients especially suited for this precious area, it also contains that acne-fighting centella asiatica. Really great for getting rid of bumps or any pesky pimples where it counts!
